Having visited and worked in India before coming to Mahindra, I knew that the opportunities that India had to offer were unparalleled. Out of college, I was looking for a job that would not only stimulate me, but also push me out of my comfort zone. Working at Mahindra, I have definitely found that.

When I joined, I was placed with the Corporate Branding Council to reinvigorate the Mahindra brand. During my first two months, I traveled through hilltop villages, green fields, and off-road trails directing photoshoots to capture brand-consistent images. I spent my days on the road, creating timetables and arranging drivers, cars, and models. My definition of a “normal” work day defied any expectations that I had previously held.

In my current project, I have joined the Automotive Sector to assist exploring foreign acquisitions in New Business Development. In the short time that I have been on the project, I have gained extensive knowledge and experience in the area of mergers and acquisitions. The project has exposed me to the strategy and big picture level of the group as a whole. It has been very exciting to be part of India’s forays into foreign markets.

While living and working in India provides frustrations and frequent discomforts, I have cherished every moment of it. The new people and the cultures I’ve been exposed to have allowed me to become more open minded and develop a broader view of the world. I believe that these are things that will affect the rest of my life in a positive manner.
